A Different Path for Everyone

Though I've chosen to share my intuitive journey, I want to caution my readers to understand that this is very personal. My path purpose to an inner understanding of my true self, and my relationship with the greater consciousness, and the reason I am here on earth, is only for me to discover.

If you learn anything from my experience, it's that there are many ways to enhance your intuition, and everyone being different, will experience and resonate with different tools and modalities that can open your heart and mind to a higher consciousness.

As mentioned in a previous blog, I have done yoga on and off since I was in my teens, and meditation within certain yoga poses. I've wondered if it had facilitated some of my psychic experiences early on. In recent years my meditation has expanded to turning inward, concentrating on heart-opening and Chakra-grounding with the intention of always seeking my highest good and communicating with only loving and positive spirits, be they spirit guides, angels, loved ones who have passed over, or the great creator. This led me to take a first step in my journey.

When I first walked into The Spirit University on a Tuesday night and joined the Psychic Practice Circle, I was welcomed warmly and felt an immediate energetic kinship to those seated around the long tables. They were, and still are, an eclectic group; a mix of ages, gender and race. I learned that most of those attending the practice had joined for reasons similar to mine--because they had experienced phenomena that couldn't be explained, and were wanting validation that there was something more to life than just the physical world. During introductions, I learned that there were members who had honed their psychic skills and would freely give mediumship messages to the group, members that had various degrees of perception in reading others (past, present, and future,) and newbies like myself.

The circle has been a safe place to practice various forms of divination, with no pressure, using certain tools to exercise and enhance our intuitive abilities. We follow a set agenda and have guidelines that respect everyone's boundaries. I must also mention that we are adamant about giving evidence in our readings that can clearly connect with an individual or spirit. Persons who may have mental disorders, such as hearing voices as in schizophrenia, will ordinarily drop out soon after, as they are unable to give the evidence required.

In my next blog, I will begin with the first exercise that we did, and how I was amazed by the accuracy of the reading I received, and the reading that I, in turn, gave to the person serendipity had paired me with. Until then, have a blessed and loving Holiday Season!

Crystals, Gemstones, and Healing Energy

During my studies of energy healing, I happened to be in a metaphysical store in Sarasota. As I strolled through their books and CD collection, I came across a display of crystals in a front corner of their storefront window. I noticed my heart begin to race and felt the energy coming off a large Amethyst Geode. This experience reminded me of the books on crystals I'd read many years before and still had at home. However, I couldn't resist back-tracking and buying one that I found in the store called Crystal Healing: Harness a Million Years of Earth Energy.

When I returned home, I located the others on my bookshelves and pulled them out to reread. The one that fascinated me the most was titled Gifts of the Gemstone Guardians, by Ginny and Michael Katz, published in 1989. In that book a husband and wife team who'd been meditating together found themselves, during a meditation, sitting in a circle of the Gemstone Guardians. One Guardian they described as an older man with a long white beard dressed in a purple robe, spoke to them about writing a book about the history of the gemstones. The book was to explain why and when they were formed on earth, and how they evolved over the centuries, and how their energies can work to help heal inhabitants of the earth. The stones, if used correctly, have the power to heal us emotionally, physically, and spiritually. But we'd need to have open minds and hearts to accept their help. Over the course of thirty chapters and visiting with different guardians who told about everything from clear Quartz Crystals to ocean stones such as Pearls, I learned about the spiritual beauty and magnificence of not only the gemstones and crystals, but the earth and universe as well.

The book I purchased at the store was a simple and colorful explanation of some of the more popular crystals and stones used for healing. They even categorize certain stones for their different abilities related to one's horoscope and ruling sun sign. I found this very handy, as a couple stones that I'd already been drawn to, were ones that matched up with my sun sign. As an example, I'm a Libra and my Sun sign is Venus the planet that rules the heart and love. Two of the best heart openers are Rose Quartz and green gems and stones such as Malachite (shown above.) Other green gems such as Emerald and Jade are very powerful. Green is the color of healing and the heart Chakra. I like the green Malachite particularly because it is also a third eye opener. I enjoy focusing on one of the rings in the Malachite when I meditate. Malachite has all the knowledge of the earth within it. If it were in the ground it could actually communicate with other Malachite around the world. It's all about energy and vibration.

I hope I've helped spur a bit of interest in the wonders of the earth and the energies that abound. My next blog will be about my experiences as I learn to increase my intuitive abilities through various divining exercises practiced in the psychic circle which I've joined. We all have intuition and it's like any muscle in the body, it increases with practice.

First Step: Energy Healing

When I was a child, I would tell my mother that I could see air. She waved it off and said it was all in my mind. Over the years, and every so often, I'd stop and notice that I could still see it if I paid attention. Normally, I just ignored it. Now I realize what I was seeing was the energy around things. I easily see the first layer of energy surrounding people and things like tables and couches, etc. Sometimes, I can even see auras. As I work with energy more and practice with meditation, I'm finding it becomes easier to see auras. I'm still learning what the different colors really mean. I do know the colors of the chakras and so look for those around the appropriate areas. But there is much more to it, as energy is always moving, unless of course it's stuck. A chapter for a future blog.

In early 2017, when I was taking ballroom dance lessons, I noticed my left arm becoming painful when held up on my dance partners shoulder. As a few months went by, I found that the longer I held it up, the more painful it became. Then one night, as I slept, I turned onto my left side and a pain shot through my shoulder that not only woke me out of a sound sleep, but put me in tears. I thought my upper arm was broken. Early the next morning, I went to the nearby emergency care, where they took an x-ray of the arm and shoulder. The good news; the arm was not broken. The bad news; I had something called frozen shoulder. It meant that I couldn't lift my arm in several directions without terrible pain. And, the pain emanated down into my upper arm, sometimes beyond that.

When asked, the doctor indicated, and I don't exactly believe it, that it happens to many people as they get older. I have since heard of young adults who have suffered with it too. He also suggested it may be a result of an earlier physical trauma. I had suspected that it was somehow related to a fall I took the previous year that found me spread-eagled on the very hard granite flooring at the Dulles Airport. I wrenched that shoulder, my elbow was swollen and very sore, and had several other scrapes and bruises. Not to ruin our one-week vacation, I put some ice on my elbow and took some anti-inflammatory pills, then walked around sight-seeing Washington for a week. After arriving home, I could barely put weight on my left leg, and learned that I'd actually fractured my pelvis. Fortunately, it healed up in the normal six-week period, and I was good to go, or so I thought.

The doctor prescribed physical therapy for my shoulder. The therapy did give me a small amount of range of motion back, but the pain was still there. As recommended, there was lots of icing the shoulder and moist heat when I had time. I discovered several other people who'd had frozen shoulder too. Some had said it took them three years to get better, some said five years. One person I spoke to was constantly in pain. I decided that no-way did I want to spend even another year without the use of that arm, much less three to five years in pain.

Innately, I felt that the protocols given to heal it, weren't helping. A friend who has been a therapeutic yoga teacher also suggested I should treat it more gently. At the same time that I began doing more gentle movements with it, I received an email from a Vlogger I follow and he had a program on Energy Healing. His guests, Donna Eden and David Feinstein, are an amazing couple. I won't go into Donna's long story, but she is a world-renowned energy healer, and discussed certain techniques anyone could do to heal themselves and retain positive energy. Also giving daily energy exercises that will keep your body in a healthy state. I ordered her large medical book which delves into the human body as pertains to the movement of energy in the Meridians, the Chakras and the Auras. I also ordered one that had quick energy demonstrations. I've since seen many of her workshops and always learn something new.

Right around the same time, I discovered another healer by the name of Jerry Wills, who also offered courses on seeing and moving energy. As I began to practice energy healing in relation to my shoulder, I saw a tremendous improvement. In all honesty, it's still not 100%, but I'd say it's 99% better. My range of motion is completely back, Every once in a while, I feel a little twinge of tightening. When that happens, I send that part of my body some energy, some love, and imagine it relaxed and completely thawed. That will usually do the trick.

In some of the next blogs, I will tell you how the Energy Healing led me to renew my love of crystals and gemstones, and how I eventually got the nerve to join a psychic practice circle. I hope you'll stay with me.

HOW MY PSYCHIC JOURNEY BEGAN

I’ve been thinking about what has brought me to my present circumstances and the need to understand the universe and how it operates. Given my love for research, it seems only natural that I was drawn to certain topics and insights that helped me renew some of my psychic abilities from childhood. For example, I’m seeing energy and auras again. Other abilities will be revealed later. I invite my readers to follow me on this journey, a journey anyone can take . . . in their own way of course.

***

I wonder, was it my decision to write my first travel mystery with the thought of adding in legends, lore and the paranormal elements that emerge in different cultures.

Or was it the decision I made in 2007 to become Vegan, eating a whole-foods, plant-based diet? Ten years later, becoming adamant to eat only organic, which means avoiding all non-GMO foods programmed with herbicides and pesticides. At the same time, finding ways to limit toxins in my environment. Did this, as many have suggested, raise my energetic vibrations?

Was it perhaps the fall I took after having undergone a 26-day detox, which had allowed me to feel fantastic, only to misstep off a curb and come crashing to earth, injuring my back. Or, was it finally dealing with the fact, that over the years I’ve fallen many times; twisting ankles, cracking ribs, and even once fracturing my pelvis? Since I’m healthy, I’ve always healed quickly, proving that our bodies are amazing in their ability to heal, but until I dealt with the emotional trauma at the root of those events, I was doomed to keep repeating them. Now that I no longer need to fall, I've been learning to be present in the moment and I've adopted new, better habits that are serving to keep me safe from careless missteps.

Has it helped that I returned to my time on the mat doing yoga and meditation? Absolutely!

I know it’s a combination of all these things that led me to research and discover Energy Medicine, the healing power of crystals, the energy vortexes around the globe and here in my home town of Sarasota. As well as the many ways to practice psychic awareness through various forms of divination. I find that I've created in my life the perfect circumstances for a psychic awareness.

Stay tuned to see what came next in my psychic journey. I welcome your comments about your own psychic journeys and experiences.
